Aoibhneas needs to continually fundraise for additional resources, as we are part funded by the Child and Family Agency and Dublin City Council.
Since 2009 Aoibhneas has experienced a 24.5 % cut to core funding. Despite these cuts Aoibhneas has had to respond to the increased numbers of women and children seeking refuge and outreach support. Aoibhneas require core funding to provide a service geared to meeting the expressed needs of families who are in crisis.
Unfortunately, some families who come to Aoibhneas often have to leave their worldly possessions behind and for many of the children it’s often following a traumatic incident. Upon a families arrival to the refuge we will provide them with emergency supplies to get them through their first couple of days. Therefore we are in need of a constant supply of clothes, food and toiletries.
Through the generosity of donors we have been able to organise annual events in the refuge like our Summer Project and our Christmas Party for the families that have stayed in the refuge during the year.
Any donation is always welcome no matter how small. If you would like to support us in any way please find all the details about how you can make a donation along with our contact details:Information on tax relief for Corporate Donations
In 2015 Aoibhneas provided direct support and assistance to 364 families experiencing domestic violence through access to our refuge, outreach and drop in service.
In 2015 our refuge service accommodated 174 Women and 292 Children who were forced to flee their homes due to domestic violence. While Christmas can be a very difficult time for the families we work with, we go to extra lengths to make Christmas at Aoibhneas as special and festive as possible.
We realise that for women and children engaged with our service your gift might be the only gift they receive this Christmas. With that in mind we would really appreciate your support once again in helping us provide gifts to families who will be staying in our service over the Christmas period and who have accessed support over the past months.
Our Annual Christmas Party will take place on the 15th December 2016, invited families will visit Santa’s grotto and partake in festive games and activities.
I would ask for your assistance in making Christmas as special as it can be by donating a gift. No donation is too small, as every gift makes a big difference in someone’s life.
Please find enclosed for your attention a leaflet of our service. You can make a donation by ringing/emailing us on 01 firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, you can a make donation by visiting our website www.aoibhneas.org.
Thank you for your continued support. Yours sincerely

“YOU HAVE NEVER REALLY LIVED UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN NEVER REPAY YOU”
On behalf of the Management, Staff, Board of Directors and especially the families who use our service throughout the year, we would like to thank everyone that donated to Aoibhneas over the Christmas period.
We are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors who answer the call to give, time and time again. The donations received helped to make life a little easier for the families who reside here with us and that gift of sharing whatever you have, no matter how big or small, is immeasurable.
Your selfless generosity has enabled us, once again, to invite families back to the Refuge for a special Christmas party, which includes a visit to Santa’s Grotto. You have helped make Christmas here a memorable one for the Women and Children in need of our service.
Once again please accept our grateful thanks, on behalf of our clients here, and we take this opportunity to wish you, your family and your friends a very peaceful and happy 2016.
You know how comforting it feels to get into new pyjamas after a bath. Please help someone else feel that way too this Christmas!
We are asking you, your family and your friends to kindly donate pyjamas for a woman or child that may need to access our refuge centre.
